Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd (Gardenia KL) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting communities during times of crisis by providing much-needed food assistance to individuals and families affected by the severe and ongoing floods. Understanding the immense challenges faced by flood victims, the company has stepped up to deliver essential food items, aiming to alleviate the immediate hardships of those in disaster-stricken areas.

To support those affected by the floods, Gardenia KL has donated over 500,000 products, including white bread, cream rolls, and kaya spreads, to victims in the East Coast, Northern regions, and Klang Valley. These donations were distributed in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), under Malaysia’s Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development (KPWKM), as well as local authorities, ensuring swift and efficient delivery to those in need.

Hazlinah Harun, General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations at Gardenia KL, stated, “As a company close to the hearts of Malaysians, we deeply empathize with the hardships faced by the flood victims. This contribution is part of our corporate social responsibility to ensure the flood victims at the Temporary Relief Centers (PPS) will always have something ready-to-eat”.

“These food contributions worth more than RM600,000, so far, is one of the initiatives under the #GardeniaCares umbrella, as one of our ways in giving back to the society as well as to show our appreciation to the people who have always supported Gardenia KL”, added Hazlinah.

The Minister of Women, Community, and Family Development, YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, expressed her gratitude when contacted, stating, “At the ministry, we always encourage and commend the support from the private sector during natural disasters, such as the efforts by Gardenia KL. Any form of assistance or contribution is deeply appreciated as it helps alleviate the victims’ hardships. Gardenia KL’s initiative is a commendable example of effective public-private collaboration for the benefit of the rakyat.”

Gardenia KL remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the community, particularly during difficult times such as natural disasters. We also express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the efforts to assist the flood victims.
