In a world often divided by differences, a simple yet powerful act of kindness has emerged as a poignant reminder of humanity’s innate ability to unite.
For Janorashikin Jasdi, a 39-year-old Preschool Student Management Assistant (PPM) at SJKT Ladang Jawi in Penang, her selfless gesture during a football tournament has captured the hearts of Malaysians and beyond.
Amid the hustle and excitement of the Under-6 MIFA Beyond Kids Cup, held at Universiti Sains Malaysia on December 7, Janorashikin noticed one of her young charges, a hungry Indian boy, struggling during mealtime.
With the clock ticking and the need for speed, she instinctively stepped in. Cooling down the hot food, she fed the boy with the care and tenderness of a mother.
This seemingly ordinary moment, captured on video by a parent, quickly became an extraordinary symbol of love and unity.
Janorashikin later explained that it was a natural thing to do. She mentioned that they were pressed for time, and she simply wanted to help him eat quickly, never imagining it would touch so many hearts.
The video spread like wildfire on social media, particularly TikTok, amassing views and heartfelt comments.

By the time Janorashikin returned home that evening, her phone was buzzing with messages of admiration and gratitude.
She reflected on how reading the comments brought her to tears, as she hadn’t realized how much this small act could resonate with so many people.
Affectionately known as Puan Nora, Janorashikin is no stranger to nurturing young minds.
A mother of four herself, she has been a PPM for 18 years, previously serving at a Chinese vernacular school and a national school before joining SJKT Ladang Jawi in February.
Despite her short tenure of 10 months, she has forged deep connections with the 25 preschoolers under her care, embracing them with the same love and attention she gives her own children.
Her commitment to inclusivity and compassion has not gone unnoticed. Headmistress M. Gogilambal praised Janorashikin’s actions as a shining example of the values championed by Malaysia’s Madani government.
She emphasized that education isn’t just about academics but also about shaping character and teaching children the essence of love, respect, and unity.
She proudly stated that Puan Nora’s heartfelt gesture had brought recognition not only to her but also to their school, making her a role model for educators everywhere.
Colleague R. Sanggari, a preschool teacher, shared similar sentiments. Initially apprehensive about how Janorashikin would adapt to working in an Indian-majority school, she was pleasantly surprised by how quickly bonds were formed.
Sanggari remarked that within just a week, Janorashikin connected with the children effortlessly, highlighting her sincerity as truly remarkable.
For Janorashikin, her work transcends duty. She considers these children as her own and believes that if she can care for her kids at home, there’s no reason not to do the same for them.
She feels they deserve all the love and support she can give.
The football tournament’s highlight may have been the team’s impressive second-place finish, but for many, the true victory lay in the heartfelt moment of unity that Janorashikin embodied.
Her actions serve as a poignant reminder of Malaysia’s rich tapestry of cultures and the profound beauty that arises when compassion transcends barriers.
In a society often preoccupied with differences, Janorashikin’s story is a beacon of hope, proving that the simplest acts of love can leave the deepest impressions.
Her kindness has not only inspired a nation but also reaffirmed the timeless truth: when we lead with our hearts, we create a world where unity thrives.
