The Tamil culture stands as a testament to the richness of its traditions and the beauty of its language. Among the countless treasures of Tamil heritage, the literary contributions of its poets hold a special place.

These poets, through their profound works, have elevated Tamil to a realm of sweetness and reverence that resonates across the world.

One such illustrious figure is the saint-poet Arunagirinathar, whose magnum opus, the Tiruppugazh, is a divine offering to Lord Muruga and a masterpiece of devotional poetry.

In honor of this extraordinary poet and his timeless compositions, the 2025 Arunagirinathar Festival will be celebrated for the 16th consecutive year, organized under the auspices of the Ipoh Arunagirinathar Mandram.

This festival serves as a beacon of devotion and a bridge connecting generations to the spiritual and cultural legacy of Arunagirinathar.

The festival is taking place at Sungai Way Thirumurugan Temple on December 25 from 2pm to 10pm.

The Arunagirinathar Festival is not merely a celebration but a confluence of devotion, art, and heritage.

This year’s events will feature eloquent speeches on Tiruppugazh by esteemed scholars, captivating musical worship, and enthralling Tiruppugazh dance performances.

Some of the esteemed scholars include Isai Maamani Thiru Sambantham Gurukkal, Dr . Jayabalan Valliappan, Founder and President of Malaysia Muruga Bakthi Peravai and Porkizhi Kavingar So So Mee Sundaram.

The festival stands as a vibrant testimony to the enduring relevance of Arunagirinathar’s work and its ability to unite people through faith and culture.

Let us honour the legacy of Arunagirinathar, whose poetic brilliance continues to inspire and illuminate the path of devotion.
