The Unity Games, which drew a crowd of nearly 23,000 participants last year, is set to expand with scale and numbers in 2025. This announcement was made by Nation Unity Deputy Minister K.Saraswathy, she has also emphasized the importance of unity and diversity among Malaysian youths through meaningful initiatives.

Saraswathy speaking at the Pongal perpaduan programme in Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Bukit Kiara, she stated , “For this year, we will identify events that are more attractive to the youth and focus on promoting them. We are also organising a ‘Sukan Perpaduan’ (Unity Games) that involves multi-ethnic teams to encourage better interaction.”

The Unity Games is aimed for greater participation from young Malaysians across all ethnicities by having a broader range of activities. To increase the number of participation, the mystery is looking to create a more inclusive environment by hosting events that can resonate with the younger generation.

Saraswathy has also highlighted the importance of fostering diverse race relationships, particularly through the Unity Games, encouraging teamwork among multi-ethnic teams. As last year with nearly 23,000 participants, she hopes to make it even bigger this year. The event is part of the government’s effort to promote cultural understanding and togetherness among us. Its true uniqueness in Malaysia lies in the ability to bring people together from diverse cultural backgrounds.

“We hope to promote greater involvement from all ethnic groups so that the significance of this cultural practice can be better understood,” said Saraswathy. This expansion of the Unity Games is expected to play an important role in fostering unity, making it an awaited event for 2025.
