As Thaipusam is around the corner, Kallumalai Sri Subramaniar Temple Ipoh has made an official announcement on its detailed schedule for Paal Abhishegam as part of the Thaipusam 2025. Known for their grandeur and devotion, Thaipusam at Kallumalai is one of the temples around Malaysia that draws thousands of devotees around the world.
Here’s the schedule highlights announced by Kallumalai Temple:
The Paal Abishegeam will take place 12 days before the huge day, starting on 31st January 2025 (Friday) until the day of Thaipusam, 11th February 2025. The rituals as usual involves Abhishegam for Murugan.
- From 31st January (Friday) to 6th February 2025 (Thursday):
- Morning: 4:00 AM to 5:30 AM
- Evening: 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
The schedule starts earlier from 7th February (Friday) to 9th February (Sunday):
- 7 February to 9 February 2025 (Friday to Sunday):
- Morning: 3:00 AM to 5:30 AM
- Evening: 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM
On 10th February (Monday) till Thaipusam day it starts even more earlier for the devotees
- 10 February 2025 (Monday):
- Morning: 2:00 AM to 5:30 AM
- Evening: 3:00 PM onwards until the next day 3.30 PM
- 11 February 2025-Thaipusam Day (Tuesday)
The Paal Abhishegam will take place after the Raja Alanggaram for Murugan
Paal Abhishegam is the most important ritual during Thaipusam, it is a symbol of offering devotion and purity to Murugan. Devotees from across Malaysia take part in it. Kallumalai Temple is one of Ipoh’s most renowned temples in our country. Apart from Batu Caves and Thannirmalai Penang, Kallumalai is also a popular place for Thaipusam.
