Malaysia’s top squash player, Sivasangari and Rachel Arnold, have secured their place in the quarter finals of the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup in the United States on Thursday, delivering a strong performance in their respective matches.
World No.10, Sivasangari bounces back from an early season setback with an impressive victory over England’s World 43 Grace Gear. She won the match with 7-11, 11-8, 11-1, 11-5 in just 33 minutes.

The win comes as a boost of confidence for Sivasangari, who had suffered a first round exit at the Tournament of Champions in New York last month. Looking to regain that loss, the London Classic Champion will now face England’s World No.51 Torrie Malik in the quarter finals.

Meanwhile, world No.19 Rachel Arnold delivered a good performance in her last 16 match against Hong Kong’s world No.48 Tong Tsz Wing. The match was wrapped up in just 20 minutes with an 11-5, 11-5, 11-8 victory.
Rachel, who reached the quarter finals of the Carol Weymuller Open recently, will now face challenges against Olivia Weaver the World No.4 of the United States in her bid to progress to the semi finals.
Both Malaysians are eager to continue their tournament and make Malaysia proud by this competition. With Sivasangari aiming for a return and Rachel to surpass her previous quarter final finishes, their upcoming matches will be a crucial test on their progress.
