In celebration of Thaipusam, the Selangor state government has allocated grants to 61 temples across the districts of Gombak, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor, distributing a total of approximately RM561,000 through the Phase 1/2025 LIMAS Assistance program. As part of this initiative, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, the Menteri Besar of Selangor presented the assistance cheques to the respective temples, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting religious institutions and preserving cultural heritage.
This initiative was announced by State Executive Council member Papparaidu, highlighting the government’s support for religious and cultural festivities. The Thaipusam festival was grandly celebrated at Batu Caves yesterday, and the festivities continue as devotees are expected to visit and fulfill their vows for at least another week.

As part of the celebrations, a special event organized by the Selangor state government was successfully held in a remarkable manner. Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Klang Member of Parliament Ganabatirau, Sentosa State Assemblyman Gunaraj, and several other dignitaries attended the event.
One of the key highlights of the event was the distribution of grants to approximately 61 temples across Selangor, demonstrating the state government’s commitment to preserving religious and cultural heritage.
