Yesterday, on February 21, renowned composer Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja announced on X that he will be presenting his first-ever Western classical symphony at London’s Eventim Apollo theatre on March 8. This landmark event promises to be a significant moment in his legendary musical career.

Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is set to make history as the first Indian composer to showcase a Western classical symphony at the prestigious Eventim Apollo in London. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, he will be accompanied by the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the world’s most esteemed symphony orchestras. Describing the event as a “special surprise performance,” Ilaiyaraaja has hinted at an unforgettable musical experience, blending his signature brilliance with the richness of Western classical traditions.

This announcement follows after the teaser release for ‘Valiant,’ Ilaiyaraaja’s first English classical symphony, recorded in collaboration with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. In the video, the legendary composer is seen introducing himself to the Scottish musicians, sharing a glimpse into his remarkable work ethic by revealing that he once composed and recorded a song or a film score every single day.
