However, Rakshitha displayed remarkable resilience, staging a comeback by scoring eight consecutive points to turn the game at 18-16. Kisona was forced to call for medical attention due to discomfort in her right knee but chose to continue to match. Despite her effort, she ultimately fell short, allowing Rakshitha to seal a hard fought win.

The world No.34 Malaysian pair fought back from a game down to secure a 15-21, 24-22,21-19 score in 73 minutes. Their determination got them into the second round, where now they will have to face American duo Presley Smith and Jennie Gai.

Meanwhile, in the women’s double event, Go Pei Kee and Teoh Mei Xing delivered a strong performance against Germany’s Selin Hubsch and Amelie Lehmann, with 21-12, 21-14, victory in 38 minutes.

With mixed results for the Malaysian contingent, the German Open continues to be a test of resilience and endurance for the nation’s badminton players as they push forward in the tournament.
