Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Parasakthi is set to be a significant milestone in his career, marking his 25th venture in the industry. Helmed by renowned filmmaker Sudha Kongara, the movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ravi Mohan, Basil Joseph, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela, with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.

One of the film’s most exciting aspects is Ravi Mohan’s role as the antagonist, promising a gripping and intense narrative. According to the film’s producer, Aakash Baskaran, in a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, the team is gearing up for a grand release during the Pongal 2026 festival. With its large-scale production and star-studded lineup, Parasakthi has already created immense anticipation among fans.

The production of Parasakthi is moving forward smoothly, with extensive shooting schedules currently underway in Sri Lanka. The filmmakers have carefully selected historically significant locations to enhance the film’s authenticity. To maintain secrecy and prevent leaks, the team is exercising strict control over on-set images and updates. After completing the Sri Lankan leg of filming, the crew will relocate to Chennai, where elaborate sets will be constructed for key sequences. With a dedicated effort to stay on schedule, the team is ensuring ample time for post-production, aiming to deliver a refined and immersive cinematic experience.

Notably, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, initially slated for an October 2025 release, has now been rescheduled for Pongal 2026. As a result, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, also set for a Pongal 2026 release, will go head-to-head with the Vijay starrer at the box office.

Jana Nayagan is scheduled to hit theaters on January 9, strategically timed to capitalize on the ten-day holiday period in Tamil Nadu for the Pongal festival. However, it remains to be seen whether Parasakthi will release on the same day or choose a different date within the festive window. Regardless, it looks like audiences are in for an exciting box office showdown, as this marks the first-ever clash between Sivakarthikeyan and Thalapathy Vijay. Fans are eagerly anticipating this highly anticipated battle at the cinemas.
