The much awaited Tamil action thriller film Veera Dheera Sooran Part-2 hit the big screens on 27th March. Delivering a gripping cinematic experience that left the audience and Chiyaan Vikram fans in awe. Directed by SU Arun Kumar and produced by HR Pictures, Riya Shibu, the film stars Chiyaan Vikram, Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Prudhvi Raj in pivotal roles. The music was composed by GV Prakash.
A Gripping Storyline
The film revolves around a simple store wonder leading a peaceful life with his wife Kalai and children, but his mysterious past pulls him into a dangerous crime network. With a story that revolves around themes of family, friendship, revenge and betrayal, Veera Dheera Sooran offers a layered narrative filled with twists and intense scenes.
SU Arun Kumar’s Direction
SU Arun Kumar, known for his films like Sethupathi, Chhittha and Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, once again proves his storytelling excellence. His ability to balance action with emotional touch shines throughout the film, keeping the audience engage from the beginning of the film to the end.
The screenplay starts off in an intriguing manner, making the first half feel slightly mysterious before everything comes together in the second half with impactful scenes. While the film’s story might remind the audience of Lokesh’s Kaithi due to it’s one-night setting and characters. Veera Dheera Sooran brings it’s own uniqueness with a different approach.
Powerful Performances, A Chiyaan Vikram Comeback
After a long wait, Veera Dheera Sooran marks a powerful comeback of Chiyaan Vikram in a full action pack role. Vikram as Kaali dominates the screen with his intense presence and dynamic action sequence. He seamlessly blends emotion with high-energy stunts and goosebumps scenes proving once again why he is one of Tamil cinema’s most versatile actors.
Dushara Vijayan, known for her incredible performances in Raayan and Vettaiyan, plays the female lead in the film. Just as her other characters, Dushara and Kalai portrayed as a bold, fearless woman that sets with the storyline adding depth beyond being a supporting role.
SJ Suryah plays a crucial role as a police officer, he delivers yet another stellar performance. His character carries the film and he executes it with his charisma and intensity.
The film also benefits from other negative role performances by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prudhvi Raj. Both of their characters are intense and well played, especially Prudhvi Raj who barely smiled throughout the film, he was a great fit for this role.
Cinematography and Visual
Visually, Veera Dheera Sooran is a feast for the eye. The cinematography plays a major role in setting the tone of the film. The movie begins in a darker tone, showing a mysterious atmosphere as it unfolds in one intense night. However, the flashback scenes take a different way, embracing brightness to reflect moments of happiness. The contrast effectively enhances the emotional weight of the story.
Arun Kumar’s screenplay is well placed. While the film may initially start off confusing, the pieces slowly start making sense. The dialogues in the film was a perfect balance, not too dramatic or underwhelming, but just right and fit the tone of the film. Each character’s dialogue serves a purpose.
High Action Sequence
Action sequences are undoubtedly one of the highlights of the film. The entire film was packed with goosebumps fights that are both intense and visually engaging. Vikram’s action scenes in particular give the audience major goosebumps and theatre cheers as he delivers an action scene.
GV Prakash’s Music Score
GV Prakash’s background music elevates the film to another level. His composition plays an important role in enhancing the mood of every scene. Moments where there’s action, tension and emotion are filled with powerful music. The song Kalloram, stands out as a musical highlight as it shows the good on screen chemistry of Vikram and Dushara.
A Must Watch Film for Action Lovers and Vikram Fans
Veera Dheera Sooran delivers exactly what fans are hoping for, a gripping action packed film with a strong narrative. Chiyaan Vikram’s return to an intense action role, with a well crafted story makes the film a must watch.
