Theyvekgan Thamaraichelvan, a renowned radio announcer at Minnal FM, is celebrated for his soulful and captivating voice. With a remarkable career spanning 17 years at the station, he has become a beloved presence on the airwaves. Now, adding another meaningful milestone to his journey, Theyvekgan has launched a thoughtful new initiative—Uravugal, a collection of wisdom cards designed to inspire reflection and strengthen human connections.

Hailing from Buntong, Ipoh, Theyvekgan is one of six siblings and was raised in a close-knit environment filled with strong family ties and the warmth of relatives. Throughout his life, he has been surrounded by love—from family, friends, and kind-hearted individuals. This deep-rooted value of connection is also reflected in the radio segment he hosts on Minnal FM, Uravugal Thodarkathai. The segment focuses on reuniting people who have lost touch with their loved ones, such as family and friends, and has become a favourite among listeners. Driven by a long-standing desire to strengthen human relationships, Theyvekgan has always aspired to create something meaningful that brings people closer together.

Theyvekgan spent a great deal of time brainstorming before coming up with the idea of creating wisdom cards. He firmly believes that, although the world has become more digital—where everything from newspapers to motivational quotes, videos, and stories is just a click away—it still doesn’t compare to the tangible experience of holding something in your hands and reading it. That physical connection evokes a different kind of emotion, a deeper sense of presence.

With this thought in mind, he created the Uravugal wisdom cards—each featuring thoughtful quotes that highlight the value of our relationships. These cards are meant to serve as gentle reminders of the people who matter in our lives and encourage us to cherish and strengthen those bonds. Ultimately, they aim to take us on a heartfelt journey down memory lane, reminding us of the meaningful connections we’ve made along the way.

When asked what inspired him to launch the wisdom cards, Theyvekgan shared,
“I would say the primary source of inspiration was my listeners and followers. I share a special bond with them, and many often open up to me—whether through social media or during personal interactions. They confide in me about their struggles and seek my advice, and that deep connection with them truly touched me. It made me want to create something meaningful for them, something that could offer comfort and help them strengthen their relationships with loved ones.

Beyond that, my grandparents played a huge role in shaping who I am. They always taught me to bring happiness to those around me and to be there for others. Their values were deeply rooted in me, and although they are no longer with us, this project is a tribute to their guidance and love that led me to where I am today.”

Theyvekgan’s thoughtful gesture—his genuine concern for the well-being of those around him—is truly commendable, especially in today’s fast-paced world where such empathy is becoming increasingly rare. In an age where individual pursuits often take precedence, his commitment to nurturing human connections and offering emotional support stands out as a powerful reminder of the values we sometimes overlook. His actions reflect a deep sense of compassion and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others, reminding us that even small efforts to care for one another can have a lasting impact.

“In today’s fast-paced world, where everyone is focused on education, career, wealth, and personal growth, we often find ourselves constantly chasing something. Each new day begins with a race—toward goals, responsibilities, and expectations. In the midst of this journey, we may have unintentionally drifted away from meaningful bonds that once walked beside us. We forget to check in on them, and by the time we do, the connection may no longer feel the same.

When you purchase these cards and begin to read them, each one will remind you of someone special. They’ll bring back cherished memories. Even during your busiest days, these cards offer you a feel-good moment—a peaceful ten minutes to pause, reflect, and revisit those beautiful moments from the past. It’s a gentle nudge to treasure the people who have been part of your journey,” said Theyvekgan.

The Uravugal wisdom card set is priced at RM49.90 and includes 15 thoughtfully crafted wisdom cards along with one special gratitude card. As a gesture of appreciation, Theyvekgan offered a limited-time launch promotion—RM39.90 for the first 50 customers—which sold out within just three days.

Those who are interested in purchasing the set or would like to know more can reach out to Theyvekgan via Instagram or make a purchase directly through his TikTok shop.

In launching the Uravugal wisdom cards, Theyvekgan Thamaraichelvan has created a meaningful and heartfelt initiative that seeks to reconnect people with the values of love, gratitude, and human connection. The success of the initial launch speaks to the resonance of his vision, and as the Uravugal wisdom cards continue to inspire others, Theyvekgan’s journey of fostering connection and compassion remains as significant as ever.
