Tamil cinema’s latest adult-theme comedy film Perusu is set to make it’s OTT debut after a theatrical release on 14th March. Directed by Ilango Ram, the film is set to begin streaming on Netflix on 11th April in four languages Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, opening the door for more audiences to experience the film.
Perusu is a film about a mysterious family tragedy. The story follows the members of a household as they navigate the unsettling and unnatural circumstances surrounding the sudden death. What begins as grief soon spirals into darker territory and hidden family secrets.

Vaibhav, known for his versatile performances, takes the lead role, delivering a layered portrayal of a son. The supporting cast includes influencer now actor Niharika NM, Sunil Reddy, Chandini Tamilarasan, Redin Kingsley. Deepa Shankar and Bala Saravanan, all of them bring a depth and authenticity to their roles.
Behind the scenes, Perusu boasts a strong technical crew. Cinematography is handled by Sathya Thilakam, while editing was done by Sooriya Kumaraguru. The film’s haunting and comedic tone is brought on screens by art director Sunil Villuwamangalath, with Arun Raj, composing the music. The screenplay, complemented by comedic and sharp dialogues from Balaji Jayaraman, enhanced Illango Ram’s script.

With it’s Netflix release, Perusu is expected to reach a global Tamil speaking audience and beyond giving viewers the opportunity to engage with a film, that has a comedy element with an emotional side.
