The Sri Sivasakthi Mariamman Temple in Shah Alam recently witnessed a grand and spiritually uplifting Maha Kumbabhishegam ceremony, drawing devotees and well-wishers from near and far.

Renowned as one of the most prominent and revered temples in the Shah Alam region, the temple holds a special place in the hearts of the local Hindu community. The auspicious event was marked by vibrant rituals, traditional music, and a profound sense of devotion, making it a memorable occasion for all who attended.

Following the completion of extensive renovation works, the Maha Kumbabhishegam at the temple was conducted with immense grandeur and spiritual fervour. The sacred ceremony was led by the temple’s founder, Sivashri Gopal Arumugam, who oversaw the traditional rituals with devotion and precision.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including MAHIMA Chairman Dato N. Sivakumar, Klang Member of Parliament V. Ganabatirau, and Mahendra Gurukkal, the founder of the Ampang Sri Athi Sankarar Thirumadam, among others who gathered to extend their blessings and support for the auspicious occasion.

“Many temples across the country are functioning exceptionally well. I truly commend the management teams for their tireless efforts and commitment. However, there are still many temples struggling with issues related to land ownership and complications with the Registrar of Societies (ROS). These are serious matters that need attention,” said Dato’ Sivakumar.

He emphasised, “Temple committees must take a proactive approach. We cannot afford to wait until problems grow beyond control before acting.”

“That’s precisely why MAHIMA has been working consistently to unite temples under one umbrella. We aim to address these challenges collectively and find sustainable solutions for the betterment of all,” he added.

The Maha Kumbabhishegam at the Sri Sivasakthi Mariamman Temple in Shah Alam was not only a celebration of the temple’s revitalization but also a powerful reminder of the unity and strength of the local Hindu community.
