SJKT Melaka Kubu Crowned Overall Champions in District Chess Tournament

Students of SJKT Melaka Kubu have made their school proud by achieving remarkable success in the recent district-level chess tournament. Held on the 21st and 22nd of April 2025, the competition witnessed the participation of numerous schools from across the district, but it was the students of SJKT Melaka Kubu who stood out with their exceptional skill and strategic play.

Their impressive performance earned them top positions, bringing glory to the school and showcasing the strength of its chess program. Out of the ten students who represented SJKT Melaka Kubu in the district-level chess tournament, an impressive seven have qualified for the upcoming state-level competition. This remarkable achievement reflects not only their individual talent and determination but also the strength of the school’s chess training program.

Adding to the celebration, this marks the second time that SJKT Melaka Kubu has brought home the championship trophy—an outstanding reflection of the school’s continued excellence in the sport. The consistent success of the students highlights their discipline, strategic thinking, and the unwavering support of their teachers and coaches.

In the Boys’ category, the students of SJKT Melaka Kubu showcased impressive performances. Herrish secured 7th place, Hariprasad followed closely in 8th, Sangkarabaranan claimed 10th place, and Vinoshen finished in 24th position. Their collective efforts played a vital role in the school’s overall success at the tournament.

In the Girls’ category, the students of SJKT Melaka Kubu delivered commendable performances. Deenesha earned an impressive 5th place, Anitra followed with a strong 10th place finish, and Ashnavi secured 28th position. Their dedication and hard work were key contributors to the school’s overall success in the tournament.
