Malaysian women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are set to achieve a new milestone in their careers, as they are expected to rise to a career-best world ranking of No. 4 when the updated rankings are released Tomorrow.

Currently holding the No. 5 spot in the world rankings, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are poised to make history as only the second Malaysian women’s doubles pair to break into the top four — a feat last accomplished by Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui in July 2010.

The now-retired duo of Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui reached the pinnacle of the world rankings, holding the No. 1 spot in May 2009.
