The advisory comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of Malaysians amid the current security situation.

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan—marked by India’s launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7—the High Commission of Malaysia has strongly advised Malaysians to immediately defer all non-essential travel to India, particularly to states that share a border with Pakistan. The advisory was shared via the Commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The High Commission clarified that this advisory applies to leisure travel and other non-urgent visits.
Malaysians currently in India are encouraged to register with the High Commission and notify them of their whereabouts by sending an email to mwdelhi@kln.gov.my.
