Tamil schools in Malaysia have been steadily raising the bar in both academic and extracurricular arenas, demonstrating excellence and determination in various fields. One such shining example is their recent performance in a state-level chess tournament, underscoring the growing prominence of Tamil schools in competitive mind sports.

The tournament was held from May 6th to May 7th at Kompleks Sungai Udang in Melaka, drawing skilled young players from across the state. Among the participants were students from SJKT Melaka Kubu, who made their mark with a commendable and inspiring performance.
A total of seven talented students from SJKT Melaka Kubu proudly represented their school at the recent state-level chess tournament held at Kompleks Sungai Udang, Melaka. Among the standout performers was Herrish Vasanthamaran, who delivered an exceptional performance and secured second place overall—a remarkable achievement in a highly competitive field.

Another commendable achievement came from Deenesha Yogeswaran, who demonstrated strong competitive spirit and consistency to earn sixth place in the tournament. Both students will go on to represent the state of Melaka at the national-level competition, marking a proud moment for their school and community.
