In a significant endorsement of its operational excellence, Batik Air has successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification, reinforcing the airline’s steadfast dedication to global safety standards and passenger trust.

The renewed certification, valid through 3rd June 2027, was awarded following a comprehensive audit under the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Risk-Based Audit (RBA) framework, a refined safety assessment process that evaluates an airline’s performance based on its operational profile and safety history.

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, Chief  Executive Officer of Batik Air said, “At Batik Air, safety isn’t just a standard, it’s our promise to you – it is the foundation of our operations and the core of our identity.”

What is IOSA and Why It Matters

The IOSA certification is regarded as the most rigorous global benchmark for airline safety and operational systems. Developed by IATA, which represents over 300 airlines worldwide, the audit is conducted by independent IATA-accredited professionals and must be renewed every two years.

It encompasses eight key operational areas:

  • Organisation and Management Systems
  • Flight Operations
  • Operational Control and Dispatch
  • Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance
  • Cabin Operations
  • Ground Handling
  • Cargo Operations
  • Aviation Security

Under IATA’s enhanced Risk-Based Audit methodology, the process delivers a more targeted and effective evaluation, helping airlines not just meet but exceed global safety expectations.

What This Means for Passengers

With its renewed IOSA status, Batik Air reaffirms its place among the industry’s safest carriers, offering passengers greater peace of mind whether flying internationally or domestically.

“This certification offers not only assurance, but also peace of mind. Whether flying domestically or across borders, they can trust that every Batik Air flight is supported by robust safety protocols, seamless coordination, and operational precision,” said Datuk Chandran.

As the airline expands its regional and international network, including new routes from Subang Airport to Bangkok and Kuching, Batik Air remains committed to deliver safe, comfortable, and reliable air travel built on a foundation of world-class aviation practices.

A Trusted Airline with a Safety-First Culture

This latest achievement reflects  Batik Air’s long-term vision to be Malaysia’s trusted full service carrier of choice, underpinned by a modern fleet, a culture of discipline, professionalism, and accountability and continuous investment in crew training, operational systems, and compliance auditing.

The airlines tagline, “Unwavering Commitment to Safety”, is more than a slogan, its a lived philosophy embedded across every decision and department.

As Batik Air continues to grow, its renewed IOSA certification stands as a testament to its non-negotiable commitment to safety, reassuring passengers that every journey begins with trust.
