Earlier, AirAsia had announced widespread flight cancellations and schedule changes affecting routes to and from Bali, Lombok, and Labuan Bajo following the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. The 1,703-meter twin-peaked volcano, located on the eastern Indonesian island of Flores, erupted on Tuesday, sending a massive ash plume soaring 10 kilometers into the atmosphere.
AirAsia has issued an update today confirming the resumption of flight operations to and from the destinations previously affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara region. The volcanic activity had earlier resulted in ash clouds that posed a serious risk to flight safety, prompting temporary suspensions. With conditions now stabilising, AirAsia has safely reinstated services in the impacted areas.

Several flights operated by AirAsia Malaysia (AK), AirAsia Indonesia (QZ), and AirAsia X Malaysia (D7) to and from Bali, Lombok, and Labuan Bajo—which had been cancelled or rescheduled since 18 June 2025—have now resumed operations.
As weather conditions remain unpredictable, AirAsia advises all passengers travelling to or from the affected destinations to stay informed by checking the latest flight status via the AirAsia MOVE app and monitoring their email for any updates or changes.
