Phewww.
Just 2 days ago we had reported that Vada Chennai will not have a sequel. But it turns out that it was just another Kollywood rumour! Sorry readers, it happens.
‘Vada Chennai’ will also get a prequel, a web series called ‘Rajan Vagaira’.
Dhanush wrote on Twitter: “Don’t know what caused this confusion among my fans. Vada Chennai part 2 is very much on, Unless you see any official confirmation from my Twitter handle please do not believe in rumors regarding any project of mine. Thank you. Love you.”

Meanwhile, reports have emerged that Vada Chennai will get a prequel and it’ll be called Rajan Vagaira. Vetrimaaran has revealed in a media interaction that he plans to make the prequel as a web series for a digital platform.
Vada Chennai chronicled 30 years in the life of an accidental gangster in north Chennai played by Dhanush. Touted to be the most ambitious project in the career of Vetrimaaran, most popular for helming Aadukalam and Visaaranai, the film was shot in the most realistic manner featuring raw and hard-hitting action and rather than just focusing on the lifestyle of a gangster.
Meanwhile, Vetrimaran and Dhanush have wrapped up shooting Asuran, a revenge thriller based on Tamil novel Vekkai. The technical crew of Asuranincludes GV Prakash Kumar for music, Velraj for cinematography and Vivek Harshan for editing. The film is being bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Dhanu under his banner V Creations. The star cast also has Balaji Shaktivel.
