A fire broke out this morning at the Virunthu food court located on Jalan Nakhoda Yusof, off Jalan Cochrane in Kuala Lumpur, damaging several stalls. According to Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Nur Zaleha Zainal, the blaze, which began around 8:15am, affected a total of seven food stalls, with three completely destroyed in the incident.
According to Harian Metro, Nur Zaleha stated that the remaining four stalls sustained approximately 20% damage. Two fire engines from the Pudu Fire and Rescue Station, along with additional personnel from the Hang Tuah station, were deployed to the scene to bring the fire under control.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department reported that it received an emergency call at 8.18am through the MERS999 hotline. In response, fire engines from the Pudu and Hang Tuah stations were dispatched to the location. A team of 16 firefighters was mobilised for the operation, supported by two fire rescue tenders and two rapid intervention motorcycles.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire as well as assessing the extent of the damages.
