On April 5, 2026, a security guard named G. Anand was allegedly beaten to death by a drunk man using a car steering lock after confronting him about drinking. According to North Klang Police Chief S. Vijaya Rao, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in a residential area of Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang.

The incident began when Anand approached a group of people who were drinking in the neighborhood. His supervisor, D. Viswa, stated that initially, when Anand approached the group, the suspect, who was intoxicated, shouted at him. A friend of the suspect advised Anand to return to his guardhouse because the suspect was very drunk. However, the intoxicated suspect eventually went back to the guardhouse with a car steering lock and used it to strike Anand, resulting in severe injuries. Later, Anand was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:18 a.m.

Following the incident, police tracked down and arrested the suspect, seizing the car steering lock believed to have been used in the attack.

Anand’s family members and colleague are mourning his loss, remembering him as a hardworking man. Anand’s family members stated that he took this security guard’s job due to his financial difficulties as he needs to provide for his family who has two children who are still young. Anand was laid to rest at Fairy Park Heritage City in Shah Alam on 7th of April, 2026.
