In an exciting new collaboration, composer-turned- actor GV Prakash and popular actor Abbas are set to headline a new Tamil film helmed by debutant director Maria Raja Elenchezhian, a former assistant of Love Today and Dragon fame Pradeep Ranganathan. The film also features rising actress Sri Gouri Priya known for her role in ‘Lover’, and marks the first production of Beyond Pictures.
A Promising Blend of Comedy and Comebacks
While the official title is yet to be revealed, the director has confirmed that the film is a family comedy entertainer, reminiscent of the fun-filled tone seen in Love Today and Dragon. Maria shared,
“The title is the name of GV Prakash’s character in the film.It has been a while since he played such a character in a comedy zone. I want the same energy that GV Prakash brought to Trisha Illana Nayanthara in this film.”

The film also marks the comeback of actor Abbas, a household name in Tamil cinema during the 90s and early 2000s. Last seen in Pachakkallam (2015), Abbas returned in a role that Maria describes as ‘fresh and extremely different’.

“We were looking for the right fit for the character, and Abbas sir seemed apt for it. I hope this role ends up as a good comeback for him. He looks extremely different and fresh in this role,” said Maria.
Gouri Priya in a Fresh New Avatar
Joining the cast is Sri Gouri Priya who will be paired opposite GV Prakash. Known for her emotional roles, Gouri takes on a lively, performance-heavy character this time.

“Gouri will be seen in a completely different character, completely contrasting to the character she portrayed in Lover. She will be seen in a bubbly persona, and this character will give a lot of scope for performance”, said Maria
Creative Roots and Vision
Maria, having been part of the core writing team for Love Today, says his upcoming film will carry a similar comic rhythm and timing.
“I was a part of Love Today’s core writing team and have worked with Pradeep in other films as well. So I carry a bit of his comedic meter and timing. You can expect that type of comedy in this upcoming film.”
The film is currently in its second schedule of shooting, with a wrap expected in August. The technical crew includes music by Justin Prabhakaran, Cinematography by Madhan Christopher, Editing by Selva RK, Art Direction by Kumar Gangappan and Costume Design by Praveen Raja.
With an energetic cast, a comedy driven storyline and strong creative foundation, this film promises to bring laughter to the big screen while offering a memorable comeback for Abbas and a refreshing new zone for GV Prakash.
