The Selangor government has set aside RM26.62 million for 873 schools across the state as part of the 2025 Selangor State School Assistance Programme.
Of the total allocation, Sekolah Agama Rakyat (People’s Religious Schools) received the largest share at RM11 million, followed by Chinese national-type schools with RM6 million and Tamil national-type schools with RM5 million. Chinese independent schools were allocated RM2 million, while national primary and national secondary schools received RM1.62 million. Mission schools and national-type secondary schools each received RM1 million.
This allocation will be particularly beneficial for Tamil schools, as it will enable them to upgrade their facilities and improve the overall learning environment. With better infrastructure, students can enjoy enhanced classroom conditions, access to improved resources, and a more supportive atmosphere for academic and extracurricular activities.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the funds may be used for various purposes, including infrastructure repairs, to create a more conducive learning environment.
He noted that the latest allocation represents an increase of RM124,000, raising the total assistance provided for the same purpose since 2019 to RM311.92 million.
“The increase is aimed at meeting the needs of national schools as well as Tamil national-type schools. We have also provided support to the association of Tamil school principals and headmasters,” he said during a press conference after the handover ceremony here today.
With this substantial allocation, the Selangor government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the state’s education sector and ensuring that schools of all types receive the resources they need. By addressing infrastructure gaps, upgrading facilities, and supporting school leadership associations, the initiative aims to create a more equitable and conducive learning environment for students across Selangor, paving the way for better academic outcomes and holistic development.
