Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s Thalaivan Thalaivii, directed by Pandiraj, has achieved a major milestone by surpassing the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office. Since its release, the film has maintained steady momentum, and its strong performance has propelled it into the coveted 100-crore club.
Marking the milestone, the production house Sathya Jyothi Films shared on X, “The family favorite Thalaivan Thalaivii has crossed 100 crore worldwide gross, made possible by your unwavering love and support ❤️.”
The heartfelt rural drama tells the story of Agasaveeran (Vijay Sethupathi) and Perarasi (Nithya Menen), a couple brought together by their shared love for food, whose lives take a challenging turn after marriage. Blending humour with deep emotions, the film has struck a chord with audiences, earning acclaim for the strong chemistry between the lead actors.
The film has also received praise from critics. In its review, Cinema Express observed that “Pandiraj avoids excessive melodrama by leaning on natural, well-crafted comedy that emerges from the different relationships in the story, particularly the one shared by Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s characters.”
The cast of the film also includes Yogi Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, RK Suresh, Mynaa Nandhini, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan, and Sendrayan in important roles. From a technical standpoint, Thalaivan Thalaivii features cinematography by M. Sukumar, music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, and editing handled by Pradeep E. Ragav.
