Plus Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) anticipates a surge in traffic volume across its highway network, with an estimated 2.2 million vehicles expected to hit the roads today and again on September 1, in conjunction with the 68th National Day celebration on August 31. In line with this, PLUS released a statement urging highway users to plan their trips ahead to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey.

The company highlighted that what makes this period special is the enhanced MyPLUS-TTA feature within the PLUS app, which has been upgraded to help motorists better plan their travel on peak days beyond the festive seasons. The feature, available for both the PLUS Highway and the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), is being introduced in conjunction with the National Day celebration.

PLUS added that it is now introducing “Favourite Route Savings” under the Favourite Routes function, allowing quicker access to preferred journeys. The app also features a “Real-time Alerts” display on the search results page, giving users instant updates on current traffic conditions.

PLUS also stated that the search function has been upgraded with a new drop-down menu, replacing the old scrolling method, to make route selection quicker and more user-friendly.

PLUS explained that, unlike festive seasons where travel dates are predetermined, it will continue to monitor daily traffic flow and provide ongoing updates on peak travel periods to ensure users receive the most accurate real-time guidance.

In conjunction with National Month and to embrace the spirit of patriotism, PLUS has also decorated more than 21 Rest and Service Areas (R&Rs) and lay-bys in line with this year’s National Day theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni.” Celebration messages are also being displayed digitally along the PLUS Highway until September 16.

PLUS is also hosting the #TerokaMalaysiaBersamaPLUS contest in partnership with Tourism Malaysia, conducted via the TikTok platform. The competition offers prizes worth over RM15,000, including a Canon G7x Mark II, DJI Osmo Pocket 3, Insta360 Go 3S, as well as Touch ‘n Go eWallet credits worth RM200 each.

To participate, users simply need to download the PLUS app and use the PLUS Passport feature. The contest will run until September 16, 2025.
