Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has made history with flight MH2610 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, operated entirely by women, from ground operations to the cockpit. Every stage of the journey reflected female leadership and expertise, with check-in agents, engineers, security officers, cabin crew, and pilots all contributing to the milestone. The initiative not only highlighted the airline’s commitment to gender inclusivity but also underscored the vital role women play across the aviation sector.

“With women now making up 36% of Malaysia Aviation Group’s workforce, surpassing IATA’s 25by2025 target, this milestone marks not just progress, but a powerful reminder that the sky has no limits.,” Malaysian Airlines said in a Facebook statement.

The airline added that it hopes the flight will inspire colleagues and aspiring aviators alike to dream bigger, pursue opportunities in aviation, and break barriers in a field still often perceived as male-dominated.

This is not the first time MAS has celebrated women in aviation. In 2023, the carrier operated another rare all-women flight, MH2520 from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, to mark International Women’s Day. The flight featured women in every role, including Captain Noorsazrina Zulkiflli and Second Officer Wong Wei Ming at the helm.

By continuing to champion women across its operations, MAS reaffirms its vision of building a more inclusive workforce while settling benchmarks for the aviation industry regionally, and globally.
