The duo was last seen together in Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’.
Trisha and Simran, the two veteran heroines in the south Indian film industry known for their diverse roles are teaming up for the first time. The buzz is that the movie has been titled Sugar.
They will be playing sisters in the movie. Sumanth Radhakrishnan, who had directed Sadhuram 2, is wielding the megaphone for this venture with All In Pictures bankrolling it.
“The story is a first of its kind attempt and the actors will undergo intense marine training before we kick start production. The shoot will take place in Chennai, Kerala, Pichavaram and Thailand.”
The film’s star cast also comprises Sathish, Jagapathi Babu, and Abhinay Vaddi.
It may be noted here that Abhinay is the grandson of the legendary star couple Gemini Ganesan and Savitri. He had acted in a couple of films like Ramanujanand Chennai 600028: II Innings and will be staging a comeback with Sugar in which he plays a swimmer.
On Trisha and Simran sharing the screen space, it may be recalled that the formerly played cameo in the latter’s film Jodi and they were seen in the Rajinikanth starrer Petta, which had hit the marquee earlier this year.
Both Trisha, as well as Simran, are busy with several other projects lined up in different stages of production of which Simran has Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Selva’s Vanangamudi in her kitty while Trisha has Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Nirmal Kumar, Thirugnanam directorial Paramapadha Vilayaattuand Saravanan’s Raangi.
