The nation’s biggest Halloween event, Nights of Fright (NOF) at Sunway Lagoon is back for its 11th edition, promising bigger scares, darker themes, and unforgettable thrills. Running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 26th September to 2nd November 2025, this year’s festival is headlined by the Puppetmaker, the latest icon of Malaysia’s largest and longest-running fright festival.
Eleven Years of Screams
Since its debut in 2013, Nights of Fright has terrified more than one million visitors, transforming from Malaysia’s first scale-Halloween event into a cultural phenomenon. With the most haunted attractions in Southeast Asia, it has become a must-visit destination for both local thrill-seekers and international visitors who now plan their travels around the event.
Ms. Michelle Soong, Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Business Development at Sunway Theme Parks, said, “Nights of Fright has grown into so much more than just a Halloween festival; it has become a stage where Malaysia’s culture meets global horror, creating experiences that are both unique and unforgettable. What makes us proud is knowing that the festival doesn’t just deliver thrills, it also drives tourism, nurtures local talent and strengthens Sunway City Kuala Lumpur’s position as one of Asia’s most exciting destinations”.
A Haunting Launch
The festival opened with theatrical flair as The Puppetmaker, joined by Hantutu, the tutu-clad hantu, and hantu icons Hantu Kum Kum and Poh Kong, arrived in a striking pink hearse. The launch featured a chilling ballerina performance, the ceremonial turning of the Puppetmaker’s Key and eerie pink fireworks lighting up the sky. Guests also witnessed the unveiling of the world’s first life-sized Blind Box haunted attraction, starring the terrifying yet oddly adorable Hantutu.
Mr. Lynton V Harris, Founder, Global Creative Director, and CEO of The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company said, “From the very beginning, Nights of Fright was designed to be more than just jump scares – it’s about storytelling, atmosphere and creating worlds where folklore and imagination collide. Eleven years later, we have the most haunted attractions in S.E.Asia, and it’s amazing to see how this vision has grown into a festival that not only thrills audiences but also stands as the undisputed benchmark for live scare entertainment in the region.”
Haunted Houses, Scare Zones and More
NOF 11 invites visitors to step into The Puppetmaker’s twisted workshop, where marionettes come alive and nightmares hang by a string. This year’s line-up includes:
