The 26th Annual Miss MalaysiaIndian Global (MMIGLOBAL) Grand Finals lit up Klang with a night of culture, empowerment, and celebration, as Johor-born Charlotte Crystal Netto, 28, claimed the coveted crown. Now based in Kuala Lumpur and practising as a lawyer, Charlotte triumphed over 12 finalist to secure the title and a series of prizes, including a return ticket to Seoul, a gold coin, and a scholarship from Veritas University College.
Reflecting on her three-month journey through MMIGLOBAL’s Personal Empowerment Programme, Charlotte shared how the community-focused initiatives shaped her outlook.
During her self introduction Charlotte said, “The most impactful part of this whole journey in MMIGLOBAL was their community work. One experience that truly impacted me is our very first challenge, the Emergency Food Basket Challenge. It opened my eyes to the struggles faced by families, especially young children, who didn’t know where their next meal was coming from. It taught me the true power of standing together as a community.”
Charlotte also swept two subsidiary titles, MMICARE’s Community Ambassador and Miss Web Popular, each coming with a return ticket to Thailand.
The Other Winners are:
- 1st Runner-Up: Dithiamalar Lengatharan, 29, a clinical psychologist from Kuala Lumpur, won a return ticket to India and the Miss Congeniality title, selected by her fellow finalists.

Beyond the Crown
Now in it’s 26th year, MMIGLOBAL continues to stand as the flagship initiative of MMICARE Association (Persatuan Prihatin Ratu India Malaysia) is a none-profit NGO dedicated to empowerment, leadership, and volunteerism among Malaysian Indian women. Since it’s registration with ROS Malaysia in 2002, MMICARE has expanded it’s reach beyond pageantry, embedding education, community support, and leadership development into it’s core.
Community Grants & Awards
The evening also spotlighted MMICARE’s commitment to education and heritage preservation. 11 students from the Kapar Community Education Programme, largely from B40 families, receive Small Subsistence Grants valued at RM3,600 each. These grants, funded by individual donors, cover daily meals from 10 academic months in polytechnics and public universities.
Adding another dimension of impact, MMICARE launched it’s inaugural Community, Environment and Leadership (C.E.L) Awards. The Community Impact Award was presented to architecture graduate Gogularajaan Rajendran for Project Araro Arirao, a digital initiative that documents Tamil folk songs from colonial-era plantations in pre-independence Malaysia, an effort to preserve cultural heritage for future generations.
The C.E.L. Awards mark a natural progression of MMICARE’s Community-focused efforts, complementing initiatives such as it’s long-running Community and Environment programme (since 2001) and it’s Small Grants programme supporting girls in STEM (since 2008).
As the curtains fell on MMIGLOBAL’s 26th edition, the evening was more than a celebration of beauty and talent. It was a showcase of resilience, leadership, and the power of women uplifting communities, values that continue to define the legacy of Miss MalaysiaIndian Global.
