Around 30 roads in the city centre will be closed in stages this weekend for the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2025, taking place on Saturday (4th October) and Sunday (5th October).

This year’s edition comes with a new race route. Unlike previous years where the run began and ended at Dataran Merdeka, the starting point for this year will be Jalan Raja Laut, while the finishing line has been shifted to Stadium Merdeka.

Road Closures

  • Friday, 3rd October: Jalan Raja Laut will be closed from 10pm to allow for race preparations
  • Saturday, 4th October: 13 roads in the city centre will be closed from 5AM to 10AM for the 10KM and 5KM categories.
  • Sunday, 5th October: 29 roads will be closed in stages between 3AM and 11AM for the Full Marathon and Half Marathon

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes during the closure periods. The KL Standard Chartered Marathon is Malaysia’s largest annual running event, attracting thousands of participants from around the world each year.

This is the full list of affected roads and closure time:
