Several roads in Brickfields and Masjid India will be temporarily closed to traffic from September 29 to October 19 to facilitate the annual Deepavali Bazaar.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said the closures are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Deepavali Bazaar and to ensure the safety of the visitors.

The affected roads are:

  • Jalan Bonus 6

  • Jalan Rakyat

  • Jalan Tun Sambanthan (in front of Sentral Suites and Little India)

  • Lorong Chan Ah Tong

DBKL has advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid congestion in the affected areas.

The public is also encouraged to use public transports as both Brickfields and Masjid India are accessible via major public transport transit stations which are KL Sentral and Masjid Jamel LRT.

The Deepavali Bazaars held in conjunction with the Festival of LIghts which falls on October 20, are expected to draw large crowds in the coming weeks.
