On September 30, 2025, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre welcomed an intimate pool of media friends and partners to an exclusive Coffee Date activation at R Bar in collaboration with Hetam. The afternoon was a celebration of coffee culture meets creative expression in an intimate and immersive setting, activated as part of the Brew with Benefits campaign by Marriott Bonvoy.
Designed to celebrate community, creativity and the joy of shared moments, the Coffee Date activation included a special preview of R Bar’s new seasonal Pink-tober Afternoon Tea Set as part of the menu enjoyment, one that is thoughtfully crafted in honour of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Resonating with the concept of an intimate yet engaging afternoon, Coffee Date was a subtle turn of the “coffee rave” trend that brewed connections through activities and entertainment. The Coffee Date invited guests to explore unique zero-proof creations inspired by Malaysian heritage. Among the highlights were Gemilang, a vibrant tribute to the Jalur Gemilang and Seri Muka/Puteri, a comforting drink that reimagines the flavors of a traditional dessert. The bar included the award-winning Bandung Pandan Spritz mocktail, which was created by a local mixologist at the hotel and recently crowned the official signature mocktail for Visit Malaysia 2026.
A coffee mocktail workshop was conducted by the guest baristas of Hétam, where guests enjoyed a hands-on
experience creating their own version of the beverage. Adding a layer of artistry to the experience, coffee portrait artist Vivian Lees captured guests in live caricature using coffee as her painting medium, creating personalised keepsakes for those attending.
The event atmosphere was complemented by curated music from homegrown DJ Vikna, creating a cosy and engaging ambience that reflected the campaign’s goal of blending creativity with community.
As part of the Brew with Benefits initiative, the Coffee Date activation reflects Marriott International’s dedication to experiential hospitality, where daily rituals, such as enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, are elevated through creativity, cultural relevance and member-focused engagement. Just in time to commemorate the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, R Bar showcased its signature Afternoon Tea Set in a seasonal theme that honours the special month, as part of the menu offering that afternoon. Presented in delicate shades of pink, the Pink-tober Afternoon Tea Set is a tiered delight of fusion-infused savouries and sweets, hued in the specific colour to symbolise strength, resilience, and remembrance. The Pink-tober Afternoon Tea Set will be made available daily at R Bar from October 7th to 31st October.
