In conjunction with the Deepavali celebration on October 20, the police will strengthen security at public places where large crowds are expected.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said this initiative aims to ensure public safety and maintain security together throughout the capital city.
He added that the police will work with other agencies as the main enforcement body to focus on key areas. The initiative is supported by the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), local authorities, Rukun Tetangga, and business associations.
Datuk Fadil further mentioned that Brickfields is among the main shopping areas for Deepavali and additional personnel will be deployed to enhance safety in the area.

He was accompanied by Kuala Lumpur MCPF Secretary Yathiran Saminathan, DBKL Deputy Enforcement Director Mohamad Hisham Ishar, and Bircfields Rukun Tetangga Chairman G Subramaniam.
During the visit, Datuk Fadil also engaged with traders and visitors around Little India, Brickfields which has already become busy with festive sales and preparations for Deepavali.
