Malaysia’s squash ace S.Sivasangari continued her impressive form on the international stage, cruising into the quarter-finals of the US130,500 Silicon Valley Open in Redwood City, United States.
The world No.8 and tournament third seed made light work of Egypt’s Kenzy Ayman (No.31), defeating her 11-4, 11-9, 11-8, in just 22 minutes. The victory marks Sivasangari’s second win over Ayman, showcasing her sharpness and composure early in the tournament.
Her next challenge will be a high-stakes encounter against world No.9 Amanda Sobhy of the United States, a familiar opponent she defeated earlier this year in the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup final, where Sivasangari claimed the title after gripping five game battle. The Malaysian holds a 3-2 head-to-head advantage over Sobhy, giving her an edge heading into the quarter final clash.

At 26 years old, Sivasangari continues to rise through the professional ranks, building on her consistent performances since returning to the tour last year. Her recent victories have established her as one of the most formidable players in women’s squash today.
