Dr. Reshma Prakash, a small-town woman with big dreams, has made history on the global stage by winning 3rd Runner-Up at the Mrs. Universe 2025 pageant held in Okada, Manila, Philippines. It was a proud and emotional evening yesterday as she stood before the media, reflecting on her inspiring journey — from humble beginnings to representing Malaysia among 120 delegates from around the world.

Raised by a single mother alongside her elder sister, Dr. Reshma Prakash’s story began with loss and resilience. She lost her father — a member of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) — when she was just nine months old. From then on, her mother single-handedly managed the household, becoming both a parent and a pillar of strength.
“My mother has always been my biggest inspiration. Watching her raise us alone taught me what true strength looks like.” stated Dr Reshma. “During my school days, I was often bullied by classmates who called me an orphan,” the Mrs. Universe 3rd Runner-Up revealed during the press conference.
Yet, instead of letting those painful experiences define her, Reshma channelled them into determination. Her professional journey in medicine became the foundation for her advocacy work — blending science, compassion, and community service to uplift others.
