The Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will synchronise the rates and methods for traffic compound payments starting 1 January 2026.
Minister of Transport Anthony Loke said a new principle for paying summonses will also be introduced — the earlier the payment is made, the lower the compound rate after the discount is applied.

Under this new system, the motorists who settle the traffic summons earlier, will receiver larger discounts:
- Payment within the first 15 days: 50% discount
- Payment on days 16 to 30: 33% discount
- Payment on days 31 to 60: no discount – full amount needed to pay
- After 60 days: legal action will be taken or blacklisting may follow
As a transition measure, from 1 November to 30 December 2025, PDRM is offering a discount of up to 70% for traffic summons payments, while JPJ summons will be eligible for 50% discount.

This initiative aims to reduce the estimated RM6.6 billion in outstanding traffic summonses nationwide and to implement a consistent, year-round system instead of previous seasonal discount campaigns.
Public are encouraged to check and make payments through the MySikap portal, MyJPJ app, MyBayar PDRM, as well as all JPJ kiosks or any PDRM traffic summons payment channels.
