The aerotrain service at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 will be temporarily closed each night from 12AM to 5AM for inspection and rectification works.
In a statement, KLIA said the nightly maintenance is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the system’s safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort. During these hours, shuttle buses will run at full capacity to ensure smooth transfers between terminals without disrupting airport operations.
“These measures are part of our ongoing commitment to maintain safe, efficient and comfortable airport connectivity.” KLIA announced on its official Facebook page.

The aerotrain which operates between the main terminal and satellite building, was previously suspended in March 2023 following a breakdown. It resumed full operations on 1st July this year after a comprehensive RM456 million upgrade.
The revamp forms part of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad’s (MAHB) RM742 million transformation initiative to elevate KLIA’s position as a leading regional aviation hub.
Since its relaunch, the driverless train has been closely monitored to ensure it’s systems meet operational and safety standards, with the current nightly checks serving as an additional precautionary measure.
