The Penang Hindu Endowments Board has allocated a total of RM34,700 to support 40 B40 students currently pursuing their studies at various higher education institutions. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden faced by underprivileged Indian students and ensure they can continue their education without disruption.
RSN Rayer, Chairman of Penang Hindu Endowments Board said the board remains committed to providing continuous financial assistance for students from low-income families. He emphasised that supporting the educational needs of B40 students is a crucial step toward securing their future and helping them achieve academic success.
The event was attended by several key figures, including RSN Rayer, Senator Dr. Lingeswaran RA, Deputy Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board, Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Finance Minister, and other distinguished guests.

Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying commended the Penang Hindu Endowments Board for its unwavering dedication to empowering the Indian community through education. She highlighted that the board has allocated over RM1 million in educational assistance since 2024, setting a strong example for other organisations to follow in community upliftment efforts.
Senator Dr. Lingeswaran also stressed that students from B40 families should never be forced to discontinue their schooling or higher education due to financial difficulties. He reiterated that education remains the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty and uplift the community.
The Penang Hindu Endowments Board’s continued commitment demonstrates its vital role in nurturing the next generation and promoting equal educational opportunities for all.
