Andrea Recalls a Rare, Emotional Call from Vetri Maaran
While promoting her upcoming film Mask, Andrea shared a deeply personal moment involving renowned filmmaker Vetri Maaran. Speaking to Galatta Plus, she revealed that Vetri Maaran, who directed her in Mask was profoundly affected after watching Pisasu 2.
According to Andrea, Vetri Maaran has always been known for his reserved and measured praise. Yet this time, something was different.
“He called me personally and spoke in a very emotional way. I thought something big had happened when he called me. It was only later that I realized how much he was affected by the film.”
Andrea added that Vetri Maaran had never praised any of her earlier performance this intensely, not even her standout role as Chandra in Mask. His reaction, she said spoke volumes about the emotional depth of Mysskin’s creation.
A Sequel That Pushes Beyond Horror
Andrea emphasised that Pisasu 2 is far more than a conventional horror film. Like its predecessor, the sequel is said to blend supernatural elements with an emotionally charged love story, one that Mysskin infuses with his signature poetic touch.
