Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will introduce four additional Electric Train Service (ETS) trips this festive and holiday season, offerings  total of 22, 680 extra tickets to meet increased travel demand.

In a statement, KTMB said the supplementary service will run from 19th December 2024, to 11th January 2026, covering the KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral and KL Sentral-Butterworth-KL Sentral routes. Ticket sales open tomorrow at 10AM on all official KTMB platforms.

More Trains for Northern Sector Travellers

Two of the additional ETS trains will operate daily on the Padang Besar-KL Sentral-Padang Besar route. The remaining two services will run every weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, along the Butterworth-KL Sentral-Butterworth sector.

“These additional ETS trains are part of KTMB’s efforts to meet high demand when tickets for regular ETS services are sold out,” KTMB said, noting that year-end travel typically sees a spike due to Christmas celebration and school holidays.

The operator also encouraged passenger to plan early and secure tickets in advance to take advantage of more affordable, flexible fares and avoid last-minute rush.

Passengers are reminded to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure, as station entry gates will close five minutes before train departure.
