Electric Train Service (ETS) operations along the Sungkai – Slim River stretch in Perak have been fully restored following repairs to damged rail infrastructure caused by a fallen tree earlier this week.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) said the incident occured on 22 Dec, Monday about 4pm when a large tree collapsed damaging overhead electrification equipments and sirupting train services along the route. The repair works o the affected electrification system were completed at 10am today allowing full ETS operations to resume.

The fallen tree had damaged multiple power supply components, including 12 cantilever tubes, which led to service suspensions and delays.

While services have returned to normal, KTMB cautioned that temporary delays may still occur as train schedules are gradually stabilised. The operator said operational recovery measures are being implemented to ensure smooth and safe train movements.

KTMB apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience during the disruption. Commuters are advised to monitor updates via KTMB’s official channels or contact the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200 for further information.
