Anupama Parameswaran’s upcoming film Lockdown is set for a prestigious world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, just days before it’s theatrical release on 5th December. The announcement was made by Lyca Production, which called the selection a ‘milestone moment’,for the team. The film marks the directorial debut of AR Jeeva.
Lockdown features a strong ensemble cast including Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Sabha Maran, Vinayak Rak, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh, and Asha. The film’s world premiere at IFFI places it alongside some of the most anticipated releases of the year.

A Big Year for Tamil Cinema at IFFI
Lockdown isn’t the only Tamil title making waves at this year’s festival. Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s 2024 blockbuster ‘Amaran’ will also be screened at IFFI, with the cast and director including producer Kamal Haasan attending the event in Goa. Amaran served as the opening film for the Indian Panorama section and has also been nominated for the Golden Peacock Award, the festival’s highest honour.

A Solid Technical Team Behind Lockdown
The film’s technical crew includes, music by NR Raghunanthan & Siddharth Vipin, cinematography by KA Sakthivel, editing by VJ Sabu Joseph and Art Direction by A Jayakumar.
Anupama Parameswaran’s Busy Year Continues
2025 has been a prolific year for Anupama Parameswaran, who has delivered multiple releases across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. She appeared in Dragon, Paradha, Kishkindhapuri, JSK:Janaki V v/s State of Kerala, The Pet Detective and Mari Selvaraj’s critically acclaimed Bison Kaalamaadan.
With the prestigious IFFI platform now hosting it’s premiere, Lockdown is poised to be one of December’s most anticipated Tamil releases. IFFI 2025 opened on 20th November and will run until 28th November.
