The newly introduced ETS3 train service will establish a direct connection between KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur and JB Sentral in Johor Bahru, making it the first direct ETS route linking these two major cities in Malaysia. The journey is expected to take approximately 3.5 to 5 hours, depending on the specific service type chosen and the number of scheduled stops along the route.

Each train is designed with modern amenities to enhance passenger comfort, including USB charging ports for devices, onboard toilets for convenience, and a dedicated cafeteria that serves a variety of snacks and beverages. Travelers can easily purchase tickets through KTMB’s official website, the KITS Style app available for smartphones, or at KTMB kiosks located at train stations nationwide.

To celebrate the launch KTMB is offering a special promotional discount of 30% on ticket prices for journeys taken between December 12, 2025, and January 11, 2026. Promo codes for this discount will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fares for a one-way journey between KL Sentral and JB Sentral start at RM82, making it an attractive option for both commuters and tourists.

For those commuting regularly or traveling for leisure, the new ETS3 service promises not only reduced travel times but also a smoother and more convenient journey between Malaysia’s  southern region and its capital, encouraging more people to opt for train travel as a viable transportation choice.
