SEA Games 2025: Malaysian Kabaddi Team Makes the Nation Proud with Four Bronze Medals

The Malaysian Kabaddi Team has made the nation proud at the SEA Games 2025 winning an impressive total of four bronze medals. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the sport and highlights kabaddi’s growing recognition on the international stage.

In the Standard-style kabaddi category, both the Malaysian men’s and women’s teams secured bronze medals after intense and highly competitive matches. Thailand emerged as the gold medalist, while Indonesia claimed the silver medal. Despite facing strong opponents, the Malaysian athletes displayed unwavering fighting spirit and teamwork until the very end.

Adding to the success, Malaysia once again stood on the podium in the Super 5 category, with both the men’s and women’s teams earning bronze medals. These results further showcased the depth, consistency, and resilience of the national kabaddi squad across different formats of the game.

Looking ahead, the Malaysian Kabaddi Team is set to compete in the 3 Star category today, where both the men’s and women’s teams will go up against Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. According to ASP Arul Prakash, Secretary of the Malaysian Kabaddi Team, the Star 3 line-up features mostly experienced players for both teams, boosting confidence and raising expectations. With a strong and seasoned squad, the team is aiming high and hopeful of securing a gold medal for Malaysia.
