The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has warned that firm action will be taken against anyone who violates safety regulations, including the display of politically oriented materials, during the upcoming concert of popular Indian actor Vijay, who is also the founder of the Indian political party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). The Thalapathy Thiruvizha concert is scheduled to take place at Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on 27 December 2025.
Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan said the event must remain strictly an entertainment programme and should not be used as a platform for political messaging or activities. He explained that the prohibition includes all forms of political expression, such as speeches, symbols, banners, materials, movements, convoys, and live broadcasts that carry political messages, whether within the concert venue or in surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Malik Streams Corporation Chief Executive officer, Datuk Abdul Malik Dashtigeer reiterated that the Thalapathy Thiruvizha concert is organised solely as an entertainment event and bears no connection to any political agenda. Public attention surrounding the concert has heightened as Vijay is also scheduled to attend the audio launch of his highly anticipated film, Jana Nayagan, later on the same day.
With an expected turnout of tens of thousands of fans, police have assured that security measures will be strengthened to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the event.
