A sacred Irumudi Kattu Ceremony was successfully held on Jnauary 1, 2026 at the Sri Ayyappan Swami Devasthanam, Batu Caves providing an opportunity for Ayyappan devotees who were unable to travel to Sabarimala, India to fulfill their spiritual vows.
The ceremony was successfully held with the participation of over 5,000 devotees who gathered in devotion to complete their mandalam fast and sacred journey as Ayyappan devotees. Datuk Seri M Saravanan also took part in this sacred ceremony, where he shared his spiritual experiences on social media.

According to temple management president Yuvaraja Gurusamy, the ceremony was organised to ensure that devotees who could not make the pilgrimage to Sabarimala were still able to complete their vows in spiritually meaningful manner.
He further noted that the Magara Jothi Thiruvizha is scheduled to take place on January 14, 2026 marking another significant event for the Ayyappan devotees.
Devotees who began their fasting period during Karthigai successfully concluded their vows through this ceremony seeking divine blessings for a prosperous and positive year ahead.
