As Malaysians prepare to reunite with loved ones during the upcoming festive seasons, AirAsia has rolled out it’s annual fixed fares initiative for Lunar New Year and Hari Raya, reaffirming it’s commitment to making festive travel more accessible and affordable for all.

Launched concurrently to cater to two of the country’s most significant celebrations, the initiative comes at a time when demand for air travel traditionally peaks. During the Lunar New Year and Hari Raya periods, AirAsia will operate an average of 1,578 flights in total, offering more than 31,000 seats at fixed fares to key destinations across East Malaysia.

Minister of Transport, YB Loke Siew Fook, welcomed the move, noting that ensuring affordable travel during major festive seasons remains a key priority for the government. He highlighted that initiative such as AirAsia’s fixed fares complement existing measures like the RM400 FLYsiswa programme, which support students travelling between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak. According to him, continued collaboration between the government and aviation industry players is essential to strengthen connectivity and benefit the rakyat.

Echoing this sentiment, AirAsia Malaysia CEO Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra said the airline is starting the year on a celebratory note by supporting both festive periods through it’s annual fixed fare offerings. With over 31,000 seats made available, he  shared that the initiative is aimed at helping Malaysians plan their journeys ahead of time, especially during high-demand travel windows, while keeping air travel within reach for more families.

For the upcoming Lunar New Year period, travellers can enjoy all-in one fares of RM328 to Sarawak, covering routes from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu. Flights to Sabah are available at RM398 all-in one way, connecting Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan. These fares are available for booking until 24th February 2026, for travel between 13th and 24th February 2026.

Over the past three years, AirAsia has consistently supported festive travel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia by making available more than 137,000 fixed fare seats. To meet increased demand, the airline ahs also introduced 761 additional flights to Sabah and Sarawak, allowing families to plan their journeys home with greater certainty and affordability.

Travellers are encouraged to self check-in via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app up to 14 days before departure and to use the e-Boarding Pass for a smoother boarding experience. For seamless travel, guests are advised to arrive early at the airport, with baggage drop counters opening three hours before departure for international flights and two hours prior for domestic services.

With the festive season fast approaching, AirAsia’s fixed fares initiative continues to play a crucial role in helping Malaysians fly home, reconnect, and celebrate the moments that matter most.
