Organized by KVN Productions and Malik Streams Corporation, the audio launch brought together an extraordinary lineup including, Thalapathy Vijay, Director H.Vinoth, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nelson Dilipkumar, the film’s cast and crew, and several prominent personalities from Indian film industry. What followed was an evening packed with emotion, celebration, surprise, and moments that will be remembered for decades.
Here are 5 highlights from the Jana Nayagan audio launch that officially made history.
1) A Malaysian Book of Records Milestone
The first historic moment of the night arrived with official recognition. The Jana Nayagan audio launch was awarded the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) for recording the largest audience ever for an audio launch event in Malaysia. As the certificate was presented on stage, the magnitude of the gathering truly sank in. The honour was awarded to Dato Abdul Malik, and KVN Productions, with producer Venkat K. Narayanan receiving the recognition on behalf of the film.

The announcement was met with thunderous applause, turning the stadium into a roaring celebration. It was a proud moment not just for the organizers and the film’s team, but for fans who had turned up in unprecedented numbers to be part of cinema history.
2) Surprises and Tributes to Thalapathy Vijay
One of the most talked-about moments of the night came when Shoba Chandrasekhar, Vijay’s mother, took the stage to perform “Kodambakkam Area” alongside playback singer Tippu. As she performed, cameras cut to Vijay, who was seen smiling and telling Pooja Hegde, with immense proud “That’s My Mom”. The clip instantly went viral, becoming one of the most cherished moments of the night.
The surprises did not stop there. In a spectacular tribute, every major choreographer Vijay has worked with over the years came together for a special performance, including Baba Bhaskar, Hari Kumar, Shekhar Master, Lalitha-Shobhi, Sridhar, Sandy, Ashok Raja, Johny, and Kalyan. Each choreographer revisiting iconic songs they had created with Vijay, including “Jinthu Jilladi”, “Matta”, “Whistle Podu”, and “Vaadi Vaadi”.
The loudest cheer of the night, however was a huge surprise to he audience, was for the Prabhu Deva. As the Indian Michael Jackson made his unexpected appearance, the stadium erupted. His performance felt symbolic, one dance legend saluting another. He performed for Whistle Podu and the iconic Aadungada Enna Suthi, which made Vijay himself do their iconic step.
Adding yet another heartfelt layer, actress Mamitha Baiju, who is part of Jana Nayagan, delivered a surprise tribute dance to iconic songs like “Ella Pugazhum” and “Maduraikku Pogathadi”, drawing massive applause from the crowd.
3) Anirudh Ravichander Sets the Stadium on Fire
No audio launch is complete without Anirudh’s performance, and the composer did exactly what the audience expected, and more. Taking over the stage for nearly 45 minutes, Anirudh delivered a non-stop, high-octane performance that turned Bukit Jalil into a massive dance floor. From the moment the beats dropped, the energy in the stadium soared.
The setlist included most of his composed songs in Vijay’s films including “Naa Ready”, “Vaathi Coming”, “Beast Mode”, “Arabic Kuthu”, “Selfie Pulla”, “Aathi”, “Oru Pere Varalaaru”, “Thalapathy Kacheri”, “Ravana Mavan Da” and more.
Fans were seen standing on chairs, screaming lyrics at the top of their lungs, and dancing without pause. Anirudh and his team once again proved why his association with Vijay has became a musical phenomenon of it’s own.
4) Vijay’s Surprise to the Audience: ‘Vijay Rocked, Audience Shocked”
If the evenings was filled with tributes for Vijay, the biggest surprise came from Thalapathy himself. Throughout the day, anticipation built around one moment, Vijay’s speech. As he finally took the mic, the stadium descended into pure chaos. Chants, whistles, and emotional cries echoed endlessly.
Fans expected one final speech in an audio launch. What they did not expect was Vijay singing, not one, but two songs.
Vijay surprised everyone by singing “Verithanam” and “Thalapathy Kacheri”. And just when fans thought it could not get bigger, Vijay did the unthinkable, responding to the crowd’s chants, he danced to the new iconic step in “Thalapathy Kacheri”.
It had been a long time since fans had seen him dance on stage, and the moment instantly became an unforgettable moment. It was nostalgia, joy, and gratitude, rolled into one unforgettable performance, followed by what many called his final “Kutty Story” at an audio launch.
5) A Crowd That Became History Itself
Beyond the performance and speeches, the crowd was true soul of the Jana Nayagan audio launch. From the moment Vijay appeared on screen to the final group photograph of the cast and crew, the audience never lost it’s energy. Cheering, dancing, singing and celebrating through the night, the crowd transformed the event into something larger than cinema.
With over 80,00 people packed into Bukit Jalil, the atmosphere was electric, emotional and overwhelming. It was not just attendance, it was participation. The fans did not merely watch history being made, they created it.
